Our groom looked very dapper and our bride was a princess with her lace gown and dainty flowers decorating her hair.
Just after her 30th birthday Marilyn married playwright Arthur Miller. This was her third marriage. Miller wrote the screenplays for two of her movies, including The Misfits, but working together wasn’t enough to keep their marriage intact and they divorced in 1961, the year before she died.
I think her sweetheart style dress and pretty little veil are very cute.

The Food. There’s no doubt about it, guests expect to be fed well on your wedding day. In fact, years from now, family and friends likely won’t remember much about your centerpieces or favors, but they will be able to recall (in detail) if the chicken was cold, the salad wilted or the pasta was undercooked. So before you blow your budget on fancy invites or a dove release during the ceremony, make sure you’ve secured an amazing caterer for your day. Trust us, great food is worth sacrificing in other non-edible areas. Whether you have a buffet, a la carte, food truck or cocktail hour canapes – just make sure there is plenty of it!!

This dress has always been one of my favourite. Carolyn Bessette was a former publicist for Calvin Klein and the wife of John F. Kennedy Jr., the son of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Upon her marriage, Bessette-Kennedy’s relationship with her husband and her fashion sense became the subject of intense media scrutiny, drawing comparisons to her mother-in-law Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Bessette-Kennedy asked Narciso Rodriguez of Cerruti to start desig her dress.The wedding took place on a remote Georgia island, Cumberland. Cumberland is 18 miles long and is accessible only by boat. There is no telephone service as none of the roads are paved. The wedding took place in a tiny wooden chapel, the First African Baptist Church, where the ceremony was held by candlelight. The altar was a simple wooden stand, and its cross was made of two sticks held together by pieces of string.
The couple, along with Bessette-Kennedy’s older sister Lauren, tragically died in a plane crash off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in July 1999.

If you’ve got the budget – a professional DJ will really help set the scene for your big day playing chilled music as your guests arrive at your ceremony.
They’ll hook your Celebrant up with a microphone so family and friends can hear every word clearly (if your ceremony has more than 50 family and friends attending – so your Celebrant doesn’t have to shout in your ears, or is outside – when it’s really important to have good sound that won’t be drowned out by crashing waves or howling wind!
Music will play a key part during your Ceremony – we all know that well-played processional tune “Here Comes the Bride” which beautiful Bride’s the world over walk down the aisle to. These days your grand entrance music can be anything meaningful to you – and of course a grand entrance is not limited to Brides, but Grooms and couples who romantically walk down the aisle hand in hand! Another place in your ceremony you can choose a piece of music which reflects your personalities is during the Register Signing – guests can sit back, relax and enjoy the music while you’re making your marriage official just off centre. After this it’s a great time to conclude your ceremony on a high with a happy, celebratory song!

For some couples standing up in front of family and friends is a bit overwhelming. The thing to remember is – you’re amongst family and friends to celebrate your love and commitment to one another – nothing else matters.

The other option my couples like is to write their own vows. Remember you’re exchanging vows as pledges of your love and your commitment. When you’re crafting your own vows they should be personal to you so can be a few words or a few paragraphs (in some cases a few A4 pages!) and written from the heart – and in your own personal style – whether that includes in jokes, sentimental tearjerkers or solemn oaths – whatever works for you, we work it in!
So don’t stress, find a quiet place, relax and have fun choosing what’s right for you! xx
